چکیده

erm, er81 and pea3 are three related genes that define a novel Ets-related subfamily of transcription factors. The expression patterns of these genes has been previously characterized in the mouse from embryonic day (E) 9.5 to birth (Oncogene 15 (1997) 937). In this study, we report differential expression patterns of the PEA3 group genes during early mouse post-implantation development. erm and pea3 expression patterns were partly overlapping. erm was activated prior to pea3 in the distal tip of the embryonic epiblast but, at primitive streak-stages, both genes were coexpressed in the posterior region of the embryo in epiblast, primitive streak and adjacent mesoderm. Similar erm and pea3 expression patterns were seen later in posterior neural plate, presomitic and lateral mesoderm, mesonephros, and tail bud. Only erm, however, was expressed in specific brain regions corresponding to prospective midbrain and ventral forebrain. erm was also strongly expressed as early as E8 in the developing branchial region, especially at the level of branchial pouches, whereas pea3 transcripts appeared later in frontonasal and first arch mesenchyme. er81 transcripts were not detected prior to E9.0-9.5, suggesting that this gene may not be involved in early developmental events.

Expression of the Ets transcription factors erm and pea3 in early zebrafish development

Here we report the cloning of zebrafish erm and pea3 cDNAs, which are members of the PEA3 subgroup of Ets transcription factors. The expression patterns of these two genes were examined during zebrafish embryogenesis. Maternal mRNAs of both genes are detectable and transcripts are found ubiquitously until the late blastula, in the marginal zone of gastrula stages and in the presumptive fore- an...

Gene Expression Profile Analysis during Mouse Tooth Development

Introduction: Complex molecular pathways involve in development of different tissues such as teeth. Differential gene expression patterns during teeth development generates different tooth types. Teeth development results from interactions between oral epithelium and underlying ectomesenchyme cells with neural crest origin. Teeth development are regulated by different signaling networks. In thi...

Role for ETS domain transcription factors Pea3/Erm in mouse lung development.

During the development of the mouse lung, the expression of a number of genes, including those encoding growth factors and components of their downstream signaling pathways, is enriched in the epithelium and/or mesenchyme of the distal buds. In this location, they regulate processes such as cell proliferation, branching morphogenesis, and the differentiation of specialized cell types. Here, we ...

Tight transcriptional control of the ETS domain factors Erm and Pea3 by Fgf signaling during early zebrafish development

Several molecules of the Fibroblast growth factor family have been implicated in the development of the vertebrate brain, but the effectors of these molecules remain largely unknown. Here we study Erm and Pea3, two ETS domain transcription factors, and show that their expression correlates closely with the domains of fgf8 and fgf3 expression. In situ hybridization analysis in wild-type and acer...

FGF acts directly on the somitic tendon progenitors through the Ets transcription factors Pea3 and Erm to regulate scleraxis expression.

During somite development, a fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signal secreted from the myotome induces formation of a scleraxis (Scx)-expressing tendon progenitor population in the sclerotome, at the juncture between the future lineages of muscle and cartilage. While overexpression studies show that the entire sclerotome is competent to express Scx in response to FGF signaling, the normal Scx exp...
